Ubotica Technologies has secured $11 million in fresh funding to accelerate the commercialization of its space-based artificial intelligence platform, with a particular focus on maritime monitoring and intelligence applications.

The Dublin-headquartered company said the investment round was co-led by Act Venture Capital and Greencode Ventures, alongside participation from existing investor Atlantic Bridge and other backers.

The latest funding brings Ubotica’s total capital raised to approximately $22 million and will support product development, team expansion, and commercial growth initiatives.

    Advancing Space-Based Data Processing

Ubotica develops artificial intelligence software designed to run directly on satellites, enabling data to be analyzed in orbit before transmission to Earth.

By processing information closer to its source, the company aims to reduce latency, lower bandwidth requirements, and provide faster access to operational insights.

The technology is designed for deployment across a range of satellite platforms equipped with onboard computing capabilities.

    Maritime Intelligence Expansion

The company is currently expanding its Live Maritime Intelligence platform, which combines satellite data, onboard AI processing, and predictive analytics to support maritime awareness and monitoring activities.

The platform is intended to help users track vessel activity, identify anomalies, and improve situational awareness across maritime environments.

Ubotica said the system can leverage multiple satellite sensor types, including optical, radar, and radio-frequency assets, to improve data collection and analysis.

    Building on Orbital AI Experience

The company has spent several years developing and validating AI technologies for space applications through a series of satellite missions.

According to Ubotica, these deployments have demonstrated the ability of onboard AI systems to process complex datasets in orbit and support real-time decision-making.

The company believes growing demand for space-based analytics will create new opportunities across commercial, government, and security markets.

    Positioning for Future Growth

Ubotica’s technology is designed to operate independently of specific hardware architectures, allowing it to be integrated across multiple satellite platforms as orbital computing capabilities continue to expand.

The company said the latest investment will help accelerate commercial adoption of its AI solutions while supporting the development of new applications for space-based intelligence services.

As satellite operators increasingly seek ways to extract greater value from data collected in orbit, onboard artificial intelligence is expected to play a growing role in future Earth observation and monitoring systems.
