Canva has announced its largest-ever platform overhaul with the launch of its new “Creative Operating System,” a suite of AI-driven tools designed to make creativity more accessible and efficient. The company said the release signals the beginning of what it calls the “Imagination Era,” where technology amplifies, rather than replaces, human creativity.
“At Canva, we’ve always believed everyone carries a powerful spark of imagination,” the company said in its press release. “We’re now entering a time when technology bends to our creativity, not the other way around.” The update reimagines Canva’s Visual Suite, introducing new tools such as Video 2.0 for simplified video editing, Canva Forms for data collection, and Canva Email Design for building branded campaigns.
Central to the announcement is the Canva Design Model, which the firm describes as “the world’s first AI model trained to understand the full complexity of design.” Unlike image generators that create static visuals, Canva’s system generates editable, multi-layered designs that can be tailored to user preferences, including 3D and animation support.
Canva also introduced Canva Grow, a marketing engine that integrates campaign creation, publishing, and analytics. For businesses, a new Brand Kit system offers improved tools for managing logos, templates, and tone-of-voice guidance. The company’s recently acquired Affinity suite is now available for free, providing professional-grade tools for photo, vector, and layout design integrated with Canva AI.
“Everything we’ve launched today is designed to help people bring their imagination to life,” Canva said, calling the launch “the beginning of a new chapter where imagination and technology work together to make creativity more accessible to everyone.”
