Clicks has introduced its first smartphone, the Clicks Communicator, expanding beyond its keyboard cases into handset manufacturing with a device that revives the BlackBerry-style physical keyboard while retaining modern smartphone features.
The Android-powered device includes elements that have become less common in recent years, such as a removable back cover, a notification LED and an audio jack. Clicks said the Communicator is intended to offer “all the features of a modern smartphone” while preserving the productivity benefits of tactile typing.

The Communicator features a 4.03-inch AMOLED display with a 1080 by 1020 resolution and a punch-hole front camera positioned at the top left. It is powered by an unspecified 4-nanometer MediaTek processor, includes 256 GB of internal storage with microSD expansion support, and has a single 50-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization. A 4,000 mAh battery supports both USB-C and Qi2 wireless charging.
The phone offers Wi-Fi 6, NFC, a physical SIM slot with eSIM support and a customizable side key with an integrated LED for notifications or shortcuts. Its touch-sensitive keyboard allows scrolling without using the screen and houses a fingerprint sensor beneath the spacebar, with additional programmable keys for quick actions.
The Clicks Communicator ships with Android 16 and a custom launcher, with Clicks promising two years of Android updates and five years of security updates. The unlocked device is available for pre-order at an early-bird price of $399, rising to $499 at launch, with shipping expected later this year.
