Coros has launched the Apex 4, a multisport smartwatch designed for endurance athletes, offering advanced tracking, navigation, and durability features. Available in 46-millimeter and 42-millimeter variants, the watch is priced at $479 and $429 respectively and can be ordered directly from the manufacturer. Shipping is expected to take seven to ten days.
“The Coros Apex 4 is a smartwatch that focuses squarely on active athletes,” the company said in its announcement. The device supports local map displays, turn-by-turn navigation, and dual-frequency GPS, allowing for precise tracking even in challenging environments. It also includes a barometer for altitude measurements and can display completed training sessions as 3D flyovers with embedded photos.
The Apex 4 features either a 1.3-inch or 1.2-inch memory-in-pixel (MIP) screen, designed for easy readability in direct sunlight. Battery life during activity tracking reaches up to 65 hours for the larger model and 41 hours for the smaller one—significantly longer than typical consumer smartwatches. The device also includes a speaker and microphone for hands-free communication and voice recordings.
Health monitoring tools include sleep tracking, heart rate variability analysis for recovery, and oxygen saturation measurement. The watch supports free worldwide maps with integrated street and trail names, along with points of interest—features similar to those found in the Garmin Fenix series.
Built with a titanium frame, the Apex 4 combines strength and lightness, appealing to users who need durability during demanding outdoor activities. With its blend of athletic functionality, robust design, and mid-range pricing, the Apex 4 aims to position Coros as a key competitor in the performance smartwatch segment.
