French audio company Devialet has released a new version of its signature Phantom speaker, the Phantom Ultimate, which combines compact design with higher sound pressure and extended bass performance.
The new line includes two models: a 98dB version with a frequency range of 18Hz to 25kHz, and a more powerful 108dB model capable of delivering bass down to 14Hz through Devialet’s “Heart Bass Implosion” technology. “HBI can reproduce bass down to 14Hz, which can no longer be heard by the human ear but can be felt,” the company said.
The redesigned housing exposes side woofers, while the midrange driver and tweeter are concealed behind a newly engineered grille. The speaker integrates an amplifier that can process frequencies up to 35kHz for clearer high tones. Users can control playback via four touch-sensitive buttons, though a remote is sold separately.
The Phantom Ultimate supports wireless pairing for stereo sound and multi-room audio through its companion app. It is equipped with WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 and an NXP iMX8 processor running DOS3, enabling streaming via Apple AirPlay, Google Cast, Roon, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect and UPnP. A six-band equalizer allows further sound customization.
The Phantom Ultimate 98dB is priced at $1,900 in Light Pearl or Deep Forest finishes, or $2,400 in gold. The 108dB model costs $3,800 in white or green and $4,300 in gold. Accessories, including a $199 remote control, wall mounts and stands, are sold separately. Both speaker versions are available now through Devialet’s online store.
