Images circulating online have revealed what appears to be DJI’s first 360-degree camera drone, indicating the company may be preparing for an official launch in the near future. The model, believed to be called the Avata 360, is expected to enter the market as a successor to the Avata 2 and as a rival to Insta360’s upcoming Antigravity A1 drone.

The leaked photos show a compact drone featuring two camera sensors designed to capture and merge panoramic footage. The design includes semi-protected propellers similar to those on previous Avata models, as well as front-facing obstacle sensors supported by dual LiDAR units positioned around the main camera housing.
Reports suggest DJI will incorporate technology from its Osmo 360 camera, enabling the drone to record 8K and 360-degree video through a three-axis gimbal system. The Avata 360 is also expected to weigh under 250 grams, placing it within the C0 drone classification, which simplifies usage and regulatory requirements in many regions.
Pricing is rumored to start around CNY 5,000 (approximately $700) in China, although it is not yet known whether that figure will be consistent across international markets. The leaks also confirm that DJI may be finalizing the retail branding of the Avata 360, signaling that an official unveiling could occur before the end of 2025.

The development follows an increasingly competitive landscape in the 360° imaging sector, as DJI and Insta360 continue to expand their product lines beyond traditional drones and action cameras. Industry analysts view the Avata 360 as a strategic move to strengthen DJI’s presence in immersive aerial videography ahead of its rival’s January 2026 launch.
