Garmin Edge Explore 2 is a cyclomp with very simple features. According to Garmin, Edge Explore 2 focuses on two main features, namely the navigation system and displaying information during cycling activities.
Navigation features rely on GPS satellites. So cyclists can view a map and get live guidance while cycling on its 3-inch color screen. This Cyclocomp can also display and record all cycling activities.
Data that can be collected includes time, speed, and distance traveled. This data can also be synced to the Garmin Connect app or third-party apps like Strava and Komoot. Additionally, the Garmin Edge Explore 2 is compatible with the use of an optional heart rate sensor and power meter.
Another Garmin Edge Explore 2 feature is the ClimbPro feature. This feature allows the cyclist to see the rest of the trail and the gradient while going uphill on a designated track. Garmin also added support for the GroupTrack feature. This feature will be very useful when you are cycling in a group. The reason is, when connected to a smartphone this feature will help to find and call friends in the group if you get lost or separated from the group.
For battery life, the Garmin Edge Explore 2 can be used for up to 16 hours for a single recharge. In battery saver mode, the battery can last up to 24 hours. Interestingly, Garmin provides Edge power Mount accessories. This accessory is specifically for electric bicycle users. Thanks to the Edge power Mount, the Garmin Edge Explore 2 battery can be recharged while cycling by drawing power from the e-bike battery.
