Sigma’s line of premium I-Series lenses is expanding. The latest variant is the Sigma 20mm F/2 DG DN.
With the presence of the Sigma 20mm F/2 DG DN, it means that currently Sigma already has 7 lenses in the premium I-Series line. The seven lenses are 20mm f/2, 24mm f/2, 24mm f/3.5, 35mm f/2, 45mm f/2.8, 65mm f/2, and 90mm f/2.8.
The Sigma I-Series is a premium line of lenses that emphasizes an all-metal body design. The design is also compact yet tough with dust and splash resistance features.
The Sigma 20mm F/2 DG DN brings a 13-element lens design in 11 groups. Includes three aspherical lens elements, one FLD lens element and one SLD lens element.
These FLD and SLD lenses are useful for minimizing the effects of chromatic aberration and ensuring sharp and clear results throughout the entire image area.
Another advantage of the Sigma 20mm F/2 DG DN is the autofocus performance. The internal focus system with the Sigma 20mm F/2 DG DN stepping motor is claimed to be compatible with the very fast autofocus systems of Sony and Leica mirrorless cameras.
Another feature, the Sigma 20mm F/2 DG DN is equipped with a metal lens cap with a magnetic system and a diaphragm adjustment control ring is available on the body.
The Sigma 20mm F/2 DG DN will be available starting February 25, 2022 for users of Sony E-Mount and Leica L-Mount cameras. The price of the Sigma 20mm F/2 DG DN US$699.
