Musical instrument maker Fender on Monday unveiled its first over-ear headphones, marking its entry into a crowded consumer audio market with a product that emphasizes battery life and modular design.
The new Fender Mix headphones are aimed at music enthusiasts and feature what the company describes as premium sound, high wearing comfort and a distinctive design available in several colors. Fender said both the ear pads and the battery can be replaced by users, a move intended to extend the overall lifespan of the device.

One of the headline features is battery performance. According to product information, the Fender Mix offer “100 hours of music playback,” while enabling active noise cancellation reduces battery life to about 52 hours. The headphones also include a USB-C transmitter concealed beneath an ear pad, allowing wireless audio transmission at up to 24-bit/96 kHz with latency of less than 20 milliseconds.

Fender said the headphones support multiple connection options, including Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C and a 3.5 mm audio cable. Bluetooth features include support for LC3, AAC, SBC and Auracast, while two built-in microphones enable voice calls. The Mix use 40 mm graphene drivers and also support 360-degree spatial sound.
The Fender Mix headphones are priced at $299 in the United States. Fender has not yet provided details on pricing or availability for European markets, the company said.
