Garmin has released a new stable software update for several of its recent smartwatches, adding support for the company’s newly launched Xero C2 chronograph. The update follows the global introduction of the device and comes alongside ongoing beta testing for other software versions.
The company has pushed System Software version 12.26 to the Instinct 3 series, including models such as the Instinct Crossover AMOLED and the lower-priced Instinct E. The stable release arrives despite Garmin having spent the past month testing newer 13.xx builds through its beta programme.

Unlike the beta releases, the latest stable update includes only a single change. According to the original announcement, the update “adds support for Garmin’s new Xero C2 chronograph,” allowing compatible watches to connect with and display data collected by the device.
Once installed, Instinct 3 smartwatches can control the Xero C2 and view its measurements directly on the watch screen. The added functionality extends across the Instinct 3 lineup, giving entry-level models access to the same chronograph integration as higher-end versions.

Garmin said the update is being rolled out gradually, with around 50% of eligible devices already receiving an over-the-air notification. The company has not indicated when a more feature-rich stable release based on the 13.xx software line will become available.
