Garmin has begun rolling out Beta Version 20.15 to its Fenix 7 and other compatible smartwatches, marking the sixth release in the v20.xx beta cycle.
This update introduces several new features, fixes, and improvements, bringing the total number of changes planned for a future stable release to nearly 20.
Among the updates, Garmin has included the addition of CIQ System 8, which supports the latest Connect IQ apps, watch faces, and data fields. The update also introduces new connection type information for paired sensors and addresses various bugs.
Notably, a fix has been implemented to resolve an issue where heart rate sensors failed to turn off in battery saver mode. Additionally, the update brings improvements to smart notifications, swim workout rest screens, and several map-related features.
However, Beta Version 20.15 does not enable the ECG functionality, indicating that additional beta updates are expected before Garmin releases a stable version.
Garmin also mentions that the update includes unspecified bug fixes and improvements, as well as updated translations for various regions.
Users of devices like the Epix 2, Enduro 2, and Quatix 7 can manually update their watches by navigating to Menu, System, Software Update, and selecting ‘Check for Updates.’
