Garmin has released Beta Version 15.16 for its Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 smartwatches, introducing several bug fixes and refinements aimed at improving device stability. The update is part of Garmin’s ongoing Beta Program and is currently available for manual installation worldwide.
According to a statement posted on Garmin’s official forum, Public Beta Version 15.16 “resolves an issue where post-activity summary pages were skipped while auto-scrolling” and fixes “a problem that caused a device reset when manually ending sleep mode.” The company also confirmed that the update includes minor translation improvements, though specific areas were not detailed.
This new release follows earlier versions 15.13 and 15.12, which delivered similar bug fixes but removed the sleep mode shortcut. Garmin’s latest firmware appears to refine sleep tracking further, addressing stability concerns reported by users in recent weeks.
To install the update, Beta Program participants must navigate through the device’s Main Menu → Settings → System → Software Update and select Check for Updates to initiate the download. The company has not yet indicated when the firmware will be distributed through automatic over-the-air updates.
The Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 occupy the upper mid-range segment of Garmin’s smartwatch lineup, offering advanced tracking and training features for runners and endurance athletes. The steady stream of firmware updates reflects Garmin’s continued focus on software optimization and user experience enhancements across its wearable ecosystem.
