Garmin has introduced the Bounce 2, a redesigned LTE smartwatch for children, offering new communication features and wider international availability. The model succeeds the original Bounce, which debuted with a rectangular display, and now adopts a round face with upgraded hardware.
The Bounce 2 replaces the 1.3-inch LCD display of its predecessor with a 1.2-inch AMOLED screen at higher resolution. It also integrates a microphone and speaker to enable two-way voice messaging, alongside new support for two-way calling and voice commands. “Voice messages can be transcribed, which could be useful in noisy environments,” Garmin said in its product announcement.
Other updates include broader satellite navigation support, spanning GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS and BeiDou, and incident detection alerts for parents. The smartwatch also provides activity tracking with more modes, a calculator app and integration with Amazon Music. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and LTE, with LTE access requiring a subscription costing $9.99 in the U.S., £9.99 in the UK and €10.99 in Europe.
The watch measures 43 mm by 43 mm and 12.4 mm thick, and comes in Slate Gray, Light Purple and Turquoise. It retails for $299.99 in the U.S., £259.99 in the UK and €299.99 in Europe, double the price of the original Bounce, which launched at $149.99.
The Bounce 2 is now available in a wider range of countries, including Canada, the UK and the Netherlands, with further expansion expected.
