Garmin has released a new beta software update for several of its Forerunner smartwatches, introducing fixes aimed at improving user experience and addressing selected bugs, according to details shared by the company.
The beta version 27.08 update is now available for the Forerunner 165, Forerunner 255, Forerunner 265, Forerunner 955 and Forerunner 965 models. It follows beta version 27.05, which was issued earlier this month to address a problem that could cause crashes during swim activities.
Garmin said the latest update includes a fix designed to improve scrolling behavior in the activity summary menu. In the official change log, the company noted that the update “improves the scroll experience in the activity summary,” addressing a bug reported by users.
In addition, Garmin said four of the five supported models — excluding the Forerunner 255 — receive a fix for an issue that could prevent users from interacting with incoming calls via the touchscreen. The company added that the release also contains “other minor bug fixes and improvements,” without providing further details.
Posts on the Garmin user forum indicate that the beta update is now broadly available to eligible devices and can be installed manually through the system software update menu. Garmin has not said when the fixes included in beta version 27.08 will be rolled into a stable public release.
