Garmin has released a new beta firmware update for several of its high-end smartwatch models, introducing Beta Version 20.13 to users participating in the company’s Beta Program. The update targets the Fenix 8, Fenix E, Enduro 3, and Tactix 8, while the newer Fenix 8 Pro remains excluded for now.
According to Garmin, the rollout is being delivered over the air to around 20% of enrolled users, with broader availability expected in the coming days. Participants can also install the update manually via the software settings menu. The new version continues the v20.xx development cycle, which has now seen more than 60 refinements since testing began nearly a month ago.
Beta Version 20.13 introduces eight key bug fixes, addressing issues such as incorrect restoration of auto-triggered settings, unwanted storm alerts during swimming, and flashlight malfunctions during paused activities. It also resolves crashes linked to editing activity focus display settings, touchscreen misbehavior during swim sessions, and non-functional voice alert frequency settings.
Garmin noted that the update also improves compatibility with InReach devices and resolves interface issues affecting Outdoor Maps Plus downloads. The company indicated that Beta Version 20.13 represents one of the final updates before the release of a new stable firmware line for the Fenix 8 series.
A Garmin spokesperson said the company continues to refine its software to enhance performance and reliability across its premium smartwatch lineup, emphasizing user feedback as a driving force behind the iterative beta process.
