Garmin has released a new beta software update for several of its older flagship smartwatches, aiming to refine performance and eliminate a shutdown issue as the company continues preparations for a future stable firmware rollout. The update, Beta Version 23.35, is being distributed to participants through an over-the-air installation.
The company said the new firmware follows just over a week after its previous beta release for models including the Fenix 7 and Fenix 7 Pro. While users continue to wait for a broader stable update, Garmin has opted to resume incremental improvements within its Beta Program. According to the original post, the company stated, “Beta Version 23.35 makes two overarching changes from v23.31.”

Garmin noted that Beta Version 23.35 introduces improvements to inReach Remote stability, expanding on work delivered in the last beta build. The update also addresses a bug that could cause affected devices to shut down when users accessed the activity selection list.
The company said it has already issued the update to all eligible smartwatches within the Beta Program, despite beginning rollout roughly 12 hours earlier. However, Dive and ECG functions will remain unavailable during this phase, indicating that development work will continue before the firmware can transition to the stable channel.
