A newly released third-party application for Garmin smartwatches enables users to track their caffeine intake while also estimating current blood-caffeine levels, offering more detailed insights into daily consumption patterns.

The app, called Caffeine Tracker, was developed by independent creator Ondřej Božek and operates separately from Garmin’s own software offerings. It builds on Garmin’s existing lifestyle tracking by providing estimates designed to help users understand how caffeine may affect their bodies over time. The app supports a broad range of Garmin devices, including several models in the Forerunner and Fenix lineups.

Users can log various caffeinated beverages, such as coffee or soft drinks, directly on their smartwatch, removing the need to record data on a smartphone. Based on inputs such as body weight and the biological half-life of caffeine, the app calculates an estimated blood-caffeine concentration and displays the results in both quick-view widgets and chart-based summaries.

The basic version of Caffeine Tracker is available at no cost. Additional features are offered through a one-time payment of €4.90, or about $5.80. These premium options include adjustable caffeine half-life settings, more detailed daily statistics, and a customizable lower blood-caffeine threshold, which may be useful for users seeking to limit caffeine intake later in the day.

The launch underscores the role of independent developers in extending the functionality of Garmin smartwatches, particularly in areas related to personal health and lifestyle monitoring.
