The era of folding phones seems to be truly a trend in 2022. Seeing the success achieved this year, Samsung will almost certainly re-release their latest Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold series.

Some time ago OPPO also announced the first folding screen smartphone, the OPPO Find N. Honor also plans to release their first folding screen smartphone. And now Huawei has officially launched its newest folding screen smartphone, the Huawei P50 Pocket.

Huawei P50 Specifications

Huawei P50 comes with a design that is practically similar to the Samsung Z Flip series. This device has the size of a standard smartphone with a 6.9-inch main screen with a resolution of 2790 x 1188 pixels with a ratio of 21: 9, with a vertical folding position.

The display panel used is OLED with a refresh rate of 120Hz, with a multi-dimensional hinge design that has been patented by Huawei, where this hinge looks without gaps when closed.

The device is 7.2 mm thick when unfolded, and 15.2 mm when folded. While the weight is about 190 grams.

The P50 Pocket also still carries a design similar to the Huawei P50 series, namely with 3D glass material. On the screen there is also a punch hole for the selfie camera.

On the cover there is a small screen measuring 1 inch round, to display some information such as date, time, notifications. In addition, it can also display widgets such as maps, music players, and QR codes.

The P50 Pocket comes with three cameras, including a 40MP main camera with a 26mm lens, a 13MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera and a 32MP f/1.8 ultra-spectrum camera that will improve color rendering.

The device is powered by the Snapdragon 888 4G SoC, with a memory configuration of 8/12GB RAM and 256/512GB storage. For the software, it uses HarmonyOS, which of course users should know that there is no GMS service in this OS.

The battery capacity is 4,000 mAh and supports 40W wired charging. The Huawei P50 Pocket comes in white and black and a special premium edition gold trim.

The Huawei P50 Pocket starts at CNY 8,988 for the standard 8/256GB model. While the higher version with 12/512GB configuration is priced at CNY 10,988
