Huawei has begun selling the Watch D2 Blue Edition in the UK, France and Spain, despite expectations that the model would arrive later this week. The new version is positioned as a higher-priced alternative to the existing black and white models.
The release comes as rival Apple launches the Watch Series 11 and Watch Ultra 3, following Samsung’s Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch Ultra earlier this year. Huawei is also preparing to introduce the Watch GT 6 and GT 6 Pro globally before their debut in China.
Reports had suggested the Watch D2 Blue Edition would be unveiled on Sept. 19 alongside the Watch GT 6 series and Watch Ultimate 2. Instead, the company has listed the device directly on its European stores, though it has not yet appeared on Huawei’s German site. “Surprisingly and without warning, the company has dropped the Watch D2 Blue Edition across its French, Spanish and UK stores,” according to the release notes.
In the UK, the Blue Edition retails at £349.99, which is £30 higher than the black and white models launched last year. However, Huawei is offering a temporary coupon that offsets the difference until Oct. 26. Similar discounts are available in France, while in Spain the watch is offered at 10% less than its full retail price, making it cheaper than existing color options.
The Watch D2 series is marketed as a blood pressure-focused wearable. With the Blue Edition now on sale, Huawei’s broader lineup refresh—including the GT 6 series—is expected to follow later this month.
