Garmin appears to have unintentionally disclosed the existence of a new inReach Mini 3 device, suggesting an imminent successor to the nearly four-year-old inReach Mini 2. The reveal came through a marketing email in which the company briefly displayed an updated satellite communicator before replacing the image.
The incident follows Garmin’s earlier expansion of satellite messaging to its smartwatch lineup with the Fenix 8 Pro, as well as the introduction of the GPSMap H1i Plus handheld navigator earlier this year. The inReach Mini 2 has served as the company’s entry-level satellite communicator, supported by a lower price point and frequent promotional discounts.

A Reddit user shared the marketing image online, prompting discussion about whether Garmin had disclosed the new device earlier than planned. The original article noted that “the company had included a picture of the so-called inReach Mini 3 in a recent marketing email.” The image was reportedly swapped out shortly afterwards for one showing the older model.
The leaked photo suggests several design changes, including a larger display capable of showing waypoint markers and satellite message interfaces. The device also appears to retain its vertical antenna, now featuring a red casing that differentiates it from its predecessor.

Other specifications and features remain unclear, but the appearance of the device in official materials indicates that the inReach Mini 3 may be nearing a formal global launch.
