Logitech has introduced a lighter version of its popular G304 gaming mouse, updating the long-running model with a significant weight reduction while keeping its familiar design largely unchanged.
The new Logitech G304 X weighs just over 2 ounces, down from 3.49 ounces for the original G304, a reduction of about 42%. Logitech has positioned the mouse to compete with ultralight gaming models, while retaining the same overall shape and button layout. The most visible external changes are new color options, while the center of gravity has been shifted to the middle of the mouse to improve handling.

The lower weight is partly the result of a smaller battery, with rated battery life dropping to 106 hours from the original model’s 250 hours. Charging is handled via USB-C. Logitech continues to use its proprietary HERO sensor, but has increased the maximum sensitivity to 25,600 DPI, up from 12,000 DPI, with support for up to 40G acceleration and a tracking speed of 400 inches per second.
Connectivity options remain focused on gaming performance. The G304 X can be used either wired via USB or wirelessly through Logitech’s 2.4GHz Lightspeed USB dongle, with a polling rate of up to 1,000 Hz. Bluetooth support is not listed in the specifications. The mouse is compatible with both Windows and macOS, with button customization handled through the Logitech G Hub software.

Logitech has not yet announced pricing or international availability. The company said the G304 X is currently listed on its China website, and is expected to remain positioned as an affordable gaming mouse, in line with the existing G304 and G305 models. Describing the update, Logitech highlighted the appeal of the original mouse as a balance of battery life, sensor performance and price, noting that the new version aims to deliver that formula in a lighter form.
