For the record, the MacBook Air M2 benchmark results that first appeared on Geekbench use the 16GB Unified Memory spec.
The results of testing the CPU speed of the MacBook Air M2 on Geekbench show a fairly high score. That is 1899 for Single-Core Score and 8965 for Multi-Core Score.
For comparison, the MacBook Pro M2 which was released a few weeks ago has more or less similar benchmark results. This can happen because these two latest Macs use the same new CPU, namely the Apple M2.
For the MacBook Pro M2, the speeds recorded in Geekbench’s tests are also more or less the same.
The main difference between the MBP and MBA with the M2 CPU in the engine is the cooling fan technology which can make the M2 CPU more stable when used for long periods of heavy work.
For comparison, the 2020 MacBook Air M1 has a speed score of 1706 for Single-Core Score and 7420 for Multi-Core Score.
That means Macs with M2 CPUs are up to 20% faster than M1 CPUs.
