Chinese electronics maker MagicX has opened pre-orders for its latest retro gaming handheld, the MagicX One 35, a compact device powered by MediaTek’s Helio G85 processor and designed to emulate classic consoles up to the PlayStation Vita. The new model is priced from $55, with global shipments set to begin on November 26.

The One 35 marks MagicX’s third handheld release of 2025, following the Mini Zero 28 and the Zero 40. Unlike those earlier models, which were based on the Allwinner A133P processor, the new handheld uses the more powerful Helio G85 platform, featuring two ARM Cortex-A75 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores paired with a Mali-G52 MP2 GPU. According to the company, the upgraded chipset enables “performance sufficient to emulate up to PS Vita titles,” expanding the system’s range beyond older 8-bit and 16-bit games.

The device offers configurations of up to 4 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64 GB of eMMC 5.1 storage, with all versions including a 4,300 mAh battery supporting 10 W USB Type-C charging. The One 35 also sports a 3.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 960 x 640 pixels and a peak brightness of 700 nits, along with stereo speakers and dual D-pads suited for Tate (vertical) gameplay.

Physically, the handheld measures 153 x 70 x 19 mm and weighs 189 grams. It also features Hall effect joysticks, a design choice aimed at reducing wear and improving input precision over time. Buyers can choose from three color variants, including the company’s newly introduced translucent finish.

MagicX has set introductory pricing at $55 for the base 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage model until October 25. Prices will gradually rise to $63 by late November, while the top-tier 4 GB/64 GB configuration will range from $65 to $73 depending on the pre-order date. The company said pre-orders are now live through its official website, with deliveries expected to begin worldwide next month.
