Asus has introduced a new premium gaming headset, the ROG Kithara, targeting users seeking high-end audio performance and versatile connectivity. The headset is now available for $299 through online retailers including Amazon.
The ROG Kithara is equipped with 100mm Hifiman planar-magnetic drivers, a technology commonly associated with high-fidelity audio equipment. Asus says the headset supports a frequency response range from 8Hz to 55kHz and is engineered to deliver distinct separation between bass, midrange and treble tones to enhance spatial awareness during gameplay. As an open-back design, the headset allows ambient sound to pass through, making active noise cancellation impractical.

The device includes a detachable boom microphone that uses MEMS technology and captures frequencies ranging from 20Hz to 20,000Hz. Connectivity options include a dual 3.5mm setup for broad device compatibility, alongside balanced 4.4mm, 3.5mm and 6.3mm single-ended plugs. A USB Type-C adapter is also provided to support modern hardware.
Asus offers several customization features, including replaceable ear cushions. The headset features an adjustable headband and a metal frame with reinforced hinges intended to enhance durability. The company lists a signal-to-noise ratio of 74dB, indicating the separation between background noise and the primary audio signal.
