Nintendo, Sony Interactive Entertainment and Microsoft said they have updated their shared principles on player safety, highlighting continued cooperation among the rival console makers to address online risks and promote safer gaming environments, particularly for younger users.
The companies said the revised principles build on a joint commitment first announced in 2020 and reflect advances in technology, new research insights and closer collaboration with industry groups, regulators and community organisations. The framework centres on prevention, partnership and responsibility.

Under prevention, the companies said they aim to give players and parents clearer controls and information to manage gaming experiences, while designing safety features that are easier to understand and use across platforms.
In a joint statement, the companies said they believe “gaming is for everyone and strive to provide experiences that are positive and enjoyable for all, especially for our youngest players,” adding that shared efforts allow them to achieve more than acting alone.
