The OkPad has launched as a distinctive dual-screen notebook, featuring a combination of a 7.8-inch E Ink touchscreen and an 8.9-inch IPS display. This innovative device serves dual purposes, functioning as both an e-book reader and a traditional laptop.
Equipped with a 1,872 x 1,404 resolution E Ink display, the OkPad offers clear grayscale visuals that are readable even in bright sunlight. It supports stylus input with 4,096 pressure levels, ideal for note-taking, with the stylus also doubling as an eraser.
The opposite side of the hinge houses an 8.9-inch IPS panel boasting a resolution of 1,280 x 800, enhancing versatility for various computing tasks.
The OkPad’s 360-degree hinge allows seamless transformation between tablet and laptop modes, facilitating user flexibility. Measuring just 1.4 cm thick when folded, it runs on Android 10, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon ARM processor up to 1.8 GHz, paired with 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of flash storage, and a 7,000 mAh battery charged via USB-C.
Available for pre-order on Kickstarter, the OkPad starts at $199 in the “Super Early Bird” offer, which includes a stylus and charger. An optional foldable Bluetooth keyboard is available for $49. Prices exclude shipping and import fees, with deliveries expected to begin in August 2024.
