Gravity Game Vision, in partnership with JoyMaker, has released the first gameplay trailer for its upcoming MMORPG Ragnarok 3, giving players an early look at the large-scale “Emperium Showdown” mode. The video showcases strategic cooperative battles and massive siege warfare — a hallmark of the long-running Ragnarok franchise.
According to the company, Ragnarok 3 retains the familiar world and job system that defined the series, while being “completely reborn with enhanced, next-generation graphics.” Developed primarily for PC, the title also supports cross-platform play on mobile devices, aiming to offer both nostalgia for long-time fans and a fresh experience for new players.
The new trailer highlights the Emperium Showdown, described by Gravity as “the ultimate showdown where two guilds face off to claim victory as the last standing conqueror.” The large-scale mode introduces siege weapons such as battering rams, ladders, and giant controllable gears, allowing players to coordinate offense and defense in real time. The company said the feature “focuses on tactical positioning and teamwork,” with each match offering “unpredictable variables and strategic challenges that elevate the intensity and excitement of gameplay.”
To promote the new system, Gravity held a pre-launch event across select regions in Asia on October 25, where hundreds of participants took part in live “Emperium Showdown” matches. The offline event allowed players to experience the territory conquest gameplay firsthand, generating what the company described as “an atmosphere charged with enthusiasm as players coordinated strategies and competed in real-time on-site matches.”
Ragnarok 3 marks the next evolution of the franchise, blending classic mechanics with modern visuals and large-scale online battles. Gravity has yet to confirm a release date but said further gameplay details and regional launch plans will be announced in the coming months.
