Samsung Electronics announced the global launch of the Freestyle+, a new AI-powered portable projector that expands the company’s display lineup with a stronger focus on flexibility, personalization and ease of use across different viewing environments.

Unveiled ahead of CES 2026 in Las Vegas, the Freestyle+ builds on the design of the original Freestyle projector while introducing enhanced artificial intelligence features and higher brightness. Samsung said the device is designed to reduce setup requirements and automatically adapt to different spaces, allowing users to start watching content with minimal adjustment. “The Freestyle+ reflects Samsung’s vision to create displays that adapt naturally to how people live and move between spaces,” said Hun Lee, executive vice president of Samsung Electronics’ Visual Display Business.

At the core of the device is AI OptiScreen, an image optimization system that automatically adjusts projection settings based on the surrounding environment. The technology includes automatic keystone correction for uneven surfaces, real-time focus adjustment when the projector is moved, and wall calibration that analyzes surface color and patterns to improve image clarity. Samsung said these features are intended to let users “simply point, place and start watching.”

The Freestyle+ also integrates Vision AI Companion, Samsung’s personalized AI platform for screens, which combines an upgraded Bixby assistant with AI services from partner companies to enable more natural interaction with on-screen content. The projector delivers 430 ISO lumens of brightness, nearly double that of the previous generation, and features a compact cylindrical design with a 180-degree rotating mount that supports projection on walls, ceilings or floors.

For entertainment on the move, the projector offers built-in access to Samsung TV Plus, certified streaming services and the Samsung Gaming Hub, removing the need for external devices. Audio is handled by an integrated 360-degree speaker, with support for Q-Symphony to synchronize sound with compatible Samsung soundbars. Samsung said the Freestyle+ will be showcased at CES 2026 from Jan. 6 to 9, with a phased global rollout planned for the first half of the year.
