Samsung has expanded its mid-range smartphone lineup with the launch of the Galaxy M17 5G, a device designed to offer solid performance, modern features, and long-term software support at an affordable price.
Built on the same platform as the Galaxy A17 5G, the new model features a familiar Samsung design, including a pill-shaped camera module and a flat frame. The 6.7-inch AMOLED display delivers Full HD+ resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate, while the front notch and slightly thicker lower bezel signal its budget-friendly positioning.
Powered by Samsung’s Exynos 1330 processor, the Galaxy M17 5G includes up to 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, expandable via microSD. The 5,000 mAh battery supports 25-watt charging through USB-C, offering endurance suited for heavy daily use.
The smartphone’s camera setup features a 50 MP main sensor with optical image stabilization, accompanied by a 5 MP ultra-wide and 2 MP macro lens, while a 13 MP front camera handles selfies and video calls. The device’s display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus, and its IP54 rating provides limited resistance to splashes.
Samsung equips the device with Android 15 and promises up to six generations of Android updates alongside six years of security patches, aligning with the company’s push for extended device longevity.
The Galaxy M17 5G will be available in India starting October 13, priced from INR 12,499 (around $140). Details about its availability in other regions have not yet been announced.
