Yes, Sony wants to provide an interesting experience for automotive lovers by creating cars that are connected to the 5G network such as mobile devices.
However, Sony recognizes the importance of collaboration in order to create a new innovation as desired. Because it costs a lot of money.
“We see the risks of abandoning EVs outweigh the challenges it poses,” said Izumi Kawanishi, senior manager who will manage Sony Mobility’s new business.
In choosing partners to collaborate with, Sony wants to partner with partners who have the same goals in the near future, as quoted by EVMAGZ.
“We understand that speed is important in terms of decision making,” said Kawanishi, who has been a software engineer since 1986.
Sony itself already has two prototype cars named “Vision” which was built in Austria with parts manufacturer Magna International. Other companies involved in the project include Bosch, Valeo SE and AImotive.
