Sony has launched a new pair of wireless earbuds under its LinkBuds brand, introducing an open-ear design aimed at users seeking comfort and situational awareness rather than noise isolation.
The LinkBuds Clip mark the first update to the LinkBuds lineup since late 2024, following the release of the LinkBuds Open and LinkBuds Fit. The launch comes as the company continues to hold back an update to its flagship WF-1000X series, which has been the subject of industry speculation.

Designed to clip onto the outer ear, the LinkBuds Clip avoid sitting inside the ear canal, a form factor Sony says is intended to improve comfort during extended use. As a result, the earbuds do not offer passive noise cancellation, but Sony has included software features such as Voice Boost and Sound Leakage Reduction to address some of the trade-offs of an open-ear design.
Sony says the earbuds “can be worn all day” and deliver up to nine hours of playback on a single charge, with total battery life extending to 37 hours when used with the charging case. The absence of eartips also removes the need for a dedicated transparency mode, as environmental sound remains audible.
The LinkBuds Clip are now available globally in four colours — Black, Greige, Green and Lavender — and are priced at $229.99 in the United States, €199 in the euro zone and £179.99 in the United Kingdom.
