Suunto has begun rolling out a wide-ranging software update for several of its smartwatches, introducing new features alongside a series of performance improvements and bug fixes, according to the company’s changelog.
The update, firmware version 2.50.26, is being released for models including the Suunto Vertical and is aimed at athletes who use multiple sports modes. Among the new features is the ability to activate or deactivate connected sensors individually within specific sports profiles. Suunto has also added preconfigured modes for duathlon and swim & run.

In multi-sport activities such as triathlon and swim & run, the update introduces automatic sport switching, allowing the watch to move to the next activity without user input. The changelog notes that “in swim & run and triathlon mode, there is now a function for automatically changing the sport,” reducing the need for manual interaction during transitions.
Additional improvements include automatic activation of newly paired sensors in compatible sport modes and a clearer data field for map displays. Suunto also said weather information can now be received via Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth, while the altimeter has been refined to show more stable readings with improved ascent and descent calculations.
