Suunto has commenced the rollout of its latest firmware update, version 2.35.34, for several of its popular wearables including the Race S, Race, Vertical, and 9 Peak Pro models. The update, announced in the second quarter of this year, promises a suite of enhancements aimed at improving user experience and functionality.
Among the key updates highlighted in the changelog are the addition of three new customizable watch faces and an always-on display option specifically tailored for workout scenarios. Suunto has also introduced a screen lock feature for watch mode, providing users with added convenience and security.
In terms of performance improvements, the update reportedly extends battery life during GPS activities for various models. For instance, the Race S now offers up to 31 hours of usage, up from 30 hours, while the Race sees an increase from 40 to 50 hours. The Vertical model improves to 65 hours from 60, and the Vertical Solar extends to 90 hours from 85.
Additional enhancements include refined step counting accuracy and improved sleep health tracking, particularly beneficial for users with resting heart rates below 40 beats per minute.
Suunto users can expect the update to be automatically downloaded when available, provided their watch is connected to the Suunto smartphone app. Alternatively, manual installation can be initiated through the Settings menu on the watch.
