Vivo said it will unveil its V70 smartphone series on Feb. 19, confirming key specifications for both the Vivo V70 and the higher-end Vivo V70 Elite as the company sharpens its focus on performance and camera capabilities in the competitive mid-to-premium segment.

In a press release, Vivo said the new lineup will launch first in India, with broader availability expected later. The company highlighted that both models will feature Qualcomm processors and camera systems developed around Sony sensors and Zeiss optics, positioning the devices as photography-focused smartphones

The Vivo V70 Elite will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset and paired with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage, according to Vivo. Both the V70 and V70 Elite include a 50-megapixel telephoto camera based on Sony’s IMX882 sensor, offering 3x optical zoom and up to 100x hybrid zoom. Vivo said the aim was to deliver consistent imaging performance across the range, noting that the series is designed to “combine fast processing with high-quality camera hardware.”

A 50-megapixel main camera using Sony’s IMX766 sensor will also be standard across the lineup, with support for 4K video recording at up to 60 frames per second. Vivo added that the Elite model integrates an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor beneath the display, while design elements include a flat metal frame, narrow bezels and a centrally placed punch-hole camera.

Market expectations point to further similarities between the two models, including a 6,500 mAh battery with 90-watt fast charging and water-resistant construction, though Vivo has not formally confirmed those details. The company’s statement suggests the V70 series could see wider international availability following its initial India launch, reflecting Vivo’s recent expansion of its premium offerings beyond domestic markets.
