Vivo has launched the Watch GT 2 in China, a new smartwatch that supports optional eSIM connectivity and the ability to link with both an iPhone and a Vivo smartphone at the same time. The device debuted alongside the company’s X300 series smartphones and Pad 5e tablet.
The Watch GT 2 retains the squircle-shaped design of its predecessor, the Watch 5, and resembles the Apple Watch Series 11. Vivo said users can receive notifications from two devices simultaneously, though the feature requires a Chinese Apple account to activate.
The smartwatch features a 2.07-inch aluminum display with a 514 x 432 resolution, 60 Hz refresh rate, and up to 2,400 nits of brightness. It comes with a 695 mAh battery, or 595 mAh for the eSIM version, which lasts about eight days with LTE enabled.
Both variants include sleep and cycle tracking, plus built-in microphones and speakers for calls. The Bluetooth model offers up to 33 days of battery life in power-saving mode and 17 days in regular use.
Vivo priced the Watch GT 2 at CNY 499 ($70) for the Bluetooth model and CNY 699 ($98) for the eSIM version. The company has not yet announced plans for international availability.
