Sony is preparing to release a refreshed version of its PlayStation 5 Slim console later this month, with the digital edition expected to ship with less storage than the current model, according to reports.

The upcoming variant, identified as model “CFI-2100” and referred to as “Chassis E,” will look the same as the PS5 Slim now on store shelves. However, the digital edition will be downgraded to 825GB of storage instead of 1TB, Dealabs reported. The disc version will retain 1TB.

“The CFI-2100 version might have minor internal changes due to optimized production, but the biggest change is that the digital edition will come with less storage out of the box,” Dealabs wrote.

The reduction has so far only been spotted on European units, with no information available on whether models in other regions will see the same change. The refreshed digital edition will also come in a redesigned box highlighting the 825GB capacity.

Despite the smaller storage, pricing will remain unchanged at €499.99 ($549). The new console is expected to launch on Sept. 13, less than two weeks away.
