New information circulating online has intensified the belief among fans that Pokémon Pokopia is set in a post-apocalyptic version of the original Kanto region. The latest leak, shared by CentroLeaks on X, depicts a map that appears to show drastically deteriorated versions of familiar locations, adding momentum to a theory that has dominated community discussion for weeks.

The leaked details describe Fuchsia City as “dried up and unfertilized fieldland,” Viridian as a “never-ending, burning forest of ash,” and Pewter as an “abandoned mine covered by rocks.” Supporters of the theory argue that the descriptions align with earlier promotional material showing a world seemingly devoid of human life, where players encounter empty islands and collapsed structures. One widely circulated line from previous coverage stated that “many fans interpret these elements as strong hints of a past disaster that wiped out or displaced human civilization.”

In Pokémon Pokopia, the playable character is believed to be a Ditto transformed into a human, rather than a natural human protagonist. Combined with visuals showing landscapes overtaken by nature and Pokémon roaming freely without trainers, the premise has been taken by many as evidence of a disrupted or destroyed society. The leak has since been amplified by Insider Gaming, generating additional attention from both casual players and dedicated Pokémon theorists.

The material also claims that new regions in Pokémon Pokopia will be added later through downloadable content, a detail that has received mixed reactions. Some fans expressed frustration toward the suggestion of DLC-locked areas, while others welcomed the possibility of a more experimental narrative direction for the franchise. Social media sentiment indicates that, despite concerns, many players are intrigued by the darker tone implied by the leaks.

Neither Nintendo nor The Pokémon Company has confirmed whether the leaked content reflects the final version of the game or whether the setting is officially tied to Kanto. With no formal release date announced and limited information publicly available, speculation is expected to continue as fans wait for the next major update on Pokémon Pokopia.
