Garmin has issued a new beta software update for selected premium smartwatches, including the Fenix 8 Pro, marking another step in the company’s ongoing November testing cycle. Beta Version 20.23 follows last week’s rollout of Beta Version 20.20, which delivered three bug fixes on top of the multiple improvements introduced with System Software 20.19 earlier in the month.
The latest build is being distributed globally as a free over-the-air update and applies to the Fenix 8 Pro and Tactix 8 models rather than only the Fenix E and Fenix 8. Garmin stated that the build resolves a charging-related problem that was recently detected. The company explained that the update “fixes vibrations turning off when charging,” addressing inconsistent haptic feedback reported by testers.

Garmin reported that the update has already reached all eligible devices participating in the Beta Program. “100% of eligible smartwatches should have received Beta Version 20.23 by now,” the company said, adding that users who have not yet seen the notification can manually trigger installation by selecting “Check for Updates” from the Software Update menu.
Although the new build corrects the vibration fault, some features remain unavailable during beta testing. Garmin noted that Aviation, Dive and ECG capabilities continue to be disabled in this release, suggesting that more revisions are likely before a wider public rollout. The company has signaled that at least one additional beta build is expected before the update transitions to a stable software version.

Beta Version 20.23 arrives as Garmin maintains an accelerated update schedule for its high-end lineup, focusing on reliability improvements ahead of the next major firmware release.
