Samsung Electronics has confirmed U.S. pricing and availability for its first tri-folding smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold, saying the device will go on sale before the end of January 2026. The announcement follows days of speculation online about the handset’s launch timing and cost.

The company said the Galaxy Z TriFold will be available for purchase in the United States on Jan. 30, with sales beginning at 10:00 a.m. Eastern time. Samsung added that the device will be sold both through its website and at Samsung Experience Stores, countering earlier reports that availability would be more limited.

Samsung set the launch price at $2,899, higher than some recent rumours but below earlier expectations that the device would debut at around $3,000. The price makes the Galaxy Z TriFold more expensive in the U.S. than in markets such as China and South Korea. As the article noted, “Samsung has settled on $2,899 as launch pricing rather than the $2,759 that was rumoured.”

At that price point, the Galaxy Z TriFold includes 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB of storage and a 5,600 mAh battery with support for 45-watt wired charging. The device shares the same camera hardware and a 6.5-inch cover display as the Galaxy Z Fold7, but expands to a larger internal screen when fully unfolded.

When opened, the tri-fold design reveals a 10-inch internal display, positioning the device as a hybrid between a smartphone and a tablet. The launch marks Samsung’s entry into the emerging tri-fold segment as competition intensifies in the premium foldable phone market.
