Anbernic has released an official hands-on video detailing several specifications of its upcoming RG Vita handheld, offering the first clear look at hardware features and performance after previously keeping technical details under wraps.
According to the video description, the RG Vita is equipped with a 5.46-inch IPS touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0, while physical ports consist of a 3.5 mm audio jack and a MicroSD card slot on the bottom, with a USB-C port positioned on the top of the device.

The video demonstrates the RG Vita running a range of titles from multiple gaming platforms, including PlayStation 2 games. Anbernic said the device can emulate systems such as the PS Vita, PS2, PSP, 3DS, Wii, PS1, SEGA Saturn, Nintendo 64 and several Game Boy platforms. “The RG Vita can emulate several consoles including the PS Vita, PS2, PSP, 3DS, Wii, PS1, SEGA Saturn, Nintendo 64, GBA, GBC, and more,” the company said.
In addition to emulation, the handheld is shown playing Android titles such as Genshin Impact and Honor of Kings. The device also supports game streaming, with footage showing Forza Horizon 5 being streamed from a PC, as well as display casting to larger screens and support for multiple external controllers for multiplayer gameplay.
Anbernic has not yet disclosed full hardware specifications or pricing for the RG Vita or its related model, the RG Vita Pro. The company is expected to share further details at a later date, with availability unlikely before the end of the Chinese New Year holiday period.
