Garmin has released a new beta software update for several models in its Forerunner smartwatch line, focusing on improving stability, performance, and feature reliability. The update, version 26.05, is available to participants in the company’s beta program for the Forerunner 165, 265, 955, and 965 models.
According to Garmin, the release addresses a range of issues that previously affected functionality. One major fix ensures the “Find My Device” alert now activates even when a passcode is enabled, correcting a security-related oversight. Other refinements include smoother map navigation during paused activities and proper deactivation of the Red Shift display mode after a user’s set sleep window.
Enhancements have also been made for golfers using the CT10 club tracking sensors. The update resolves missing club averages and suggestions, improving data accuracy. Garmin noted that users can now switch sports by holding the lap key, allowing a single press to record laps or sets during training.
Music playback stability has also been refined, with the update correcting an issue that caused incorrect playback times when fast-forwarding through tracks. The company said these adjustments are part of ongoing efforts to “improve stability and overall user experience” across the Forerunner range.
Garmin’s beta software program continues to serve as a testing ground for new features and fixes ahead of wider public releases, giving users early access to refinements while helping identify potential issues before rollout.
