Garmin has released software version 15.16 for its Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 smartwatches, marking the completion of the 15.xx testing cycle that began in mid-September 2025. The latest stable update brings several new features and bug fixes aimed at improving user experience and device stability.
Among the key additions is the Health Glance feature, which was first introduced with the Garmin Venu 4. The feature provides users with more detailed insights into their sleep and overall well-being. Other updates include a rolling pace data field and expanded control over notifications, allowing users to adjust alert settings on an app-by-app basis.

The update also enhances the Morning Report and Evening Report, which can now be accessed directly through the Notification Center. Garmin has added new gesture and button controls, such as using the down key to dismiss training alerts and covering the screen with a palm to close smart notifications.
In addition to these new features, Garmin addressed several user-reported issues, including excessive battery drain, unexpected reboots, and screen blanking problems. The Forerunner 970 received an exclusive bug fix resolving a malfunction with its “Search Near” map feature.
A Garmin representative confirmed in the company’s official forum that “software version 15.16 is now available for all users of the Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 smartwatches.”
