Tinder introduces a blind date feature for their users

Tinder recently added a Blind Date feature which allows users to chat with other users first before viewing their profile picture. This changes the main way works, where users swipe right and left of other users based on the photos they display.

Blind Date is a new feature included in Tinder’s Fast Chat lineup, reports The Verge (11/2). With this feature, users will be paired on a similarity basis, where they will answer questions and play games. Both couples can see each other’s photos once they decide to match.

Users will be asked to fill in statements such as “It’s okay to wear a shirt __ times without washing it,” or “I put ketchup on __.” Users who are impressed with their partner’s answers, can decide to match with their co-star. But if they don’t like their partner’s answer, they can find another partner.

“Reflects Gen Z’s modern dating habits and also takes advantage of their ’90s nostalgia,’ says Tinder of the Blind Date feature.

Tinder claims that during the initial safe test, there was an increase in user-friendliness, compared to other Fast Chat features that use profiles and pictures.

So far, this feature is only accessible to users in the United States. However, the company claims the feature will be available globally in the coming weeks.
