MediaTek is gearing up to launch new processors from the Dimensity 9000 and Dimensity 8000 series. However, before any such phones with Dimensity were released, the Dimensity 8000 series chipset was spotted on AnTuTu. In one of those famous benchmark platforms, the new chipset can be seen with an impressive score, which comes with a score of 820,000 points.
Despite the more powerful chipsets, the Dimensity 8000 series is positioned below the high-end Dimensity 9000 flagship series. However, this chipset managed to outperform Qualcomm‘s 2021 flagship processor, the Snapdragon 888.
Reporting from Gizmochina (17/2), as of now, the Snapdragon 888 chipset score is 800,000 on AnTuTu. Previously, there were even reports that Dimensity is said to beat the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 as well, so it seems that MediaTek‘s next generation lineup is quite a contender in the mobile chipset market this year.
Also, phones with the Dimensity 8000 processor will probably be a good choice for many, as they will offer great performance and will also be relatively cheaper than flagship devices. In particular, the new Dimensity 8000 and Dimensity 9000 chipsets are also designed to save power without sacrificing performance. This year, various brands are expected to feature this chipset, including OPPO, vivo, Xiaomi, Honor, and other brands.
Keep in mind that these are still synthetic benchmarks and do not reflect actual real-world performance in areas such as gaming. This benchmark is also shared by the tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, which means, it’s also not an official test from the brand and is likely an early benchmark.
