WhatsApp has finally officially announced the community feature. This feature allows users to create WhatsApp groups on a larger scale than the existing WhatsApp Groups feature.
Like the community feature that already exists on several social media platforms, this feature allows more participants to take part, not only limited to 256 participants.
In addition, through this community feature, users can create sub-groups within the main community group. This allows community admins to more easily organize each sub-group based on different goals.
This feature will be very suitable for use in organizations such as companies, schools, hobby communities and many more.
With more participant capacity, access is also more tightly regulated than the usual WA group. For example, only admins may accept group members, send broadcasts to all sub groups, or delete content that is not in accordance with the provisions in the community.
Other features that are also better than the standard WhatsApp Group features are voice calls up to 32 participants, file sharing up to 2GB, emoji reactions and so on.
This feature is currently being tested in several countries, and will only be released globally after the trial is complete. So let’s just wait for its official presence in the near future.
