Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey recently responded to a tweet that rekindled memories of the older short video app TikTok, Vine. In a tweet, Dorsey said he regretted stopping the app.
Vine is a short 6 second video sharing app which was acquired by Twitter in 2012 and started broadcasting in January 2013.
The uniqueness of Vine is in the short duration of the video. Creators are forced to think creatively in order to pack a 6-second video. Based on a report by The Verge, the application managed to collect 40 million registered users during the first 7 months.

Vine was discontinued by Twitter in January 2017, shortly after TikTok launched. People’s need for short video content has not completely disappeared thanks to TikTok. However, despite being considered the successor to Vine, TikTok is now much different from Vine. Because, the application is increasingly extending the duration of the video, the last update is up to 10 minutes. TikTok also has more stickers and effects to work with.
