Apple to launch M1-based 27-inch iMac Pro

In 2019, launched a total of three variants for the line. Users can choose between the smaller 21.5-inch iMac, the standard 27-inch iMac, and the 27-inch .

However, earlier this year Apple discontinued several variants of that year’s version. They decided to abolish this variant of the iMac Pro 27 along with the 21.5-inch iMac. Instead, they introduced a 24-inch iMac powered by the M1 chipset.

This makes the 27-inch iMac the only iMac that hasn’t gotten the M1 chipset update. However, Ubergizmo (14/12) reports a leak that reveals Apple will update its 27-inch iMac with the M1 chipset.

In a recent leak, the Cupertino company is said to be introducing a new 27-inch iMac, but in the iMac Pro variant. This device will use a mini LED panel with ProMotion support.

This means, the screen of this 27-inch iMac Pro will have a refresh rate of 120Hz. The computer is expected to launch in the spring of 2022, meaning sometime between March and June.

It is possible that this new Mac will come with a high-end chipset as it is a “Pro” variant. So hopefully this device will come with a choice of M1 Max and M1 Pro variants. As usual, Apple does not make a statement regarding products that they have not officially introduced.
