According to the latest leak from DigiTimes, Apple is currently in the production phase of the iPad 10. Production of the iPad 10 is reportedly speeding up to be ready when it launches in September.

However, mass production of the iPad 10 is overshadowed by some concerns about production facilities in China.

According to DigiTimes, iPad 10 production facilities in China are concerned about temporary power restrictions imposed by the government.

Power restrictions were imposed on factories in China’s southwestern Sichuan province. Amid the intense heat wave, electricity has been cut off for industrial users in 19 cities across the province until August 20.

DigiTimes said the government is prioritizing electricity supply for housing and all industrial power users have been ordered to suspend all production during this period.

Based on the leak, the iPad 10 will bring major changes in terms of design and specifications.

The iPad 10 will carry the A14 Bionic chipset with a clock speed of 3.1GHz and 4 GPUs. The A14 chipset in the iPad 10 will be the same as the A14 chip in the iPhone 12.

For the screen, the iPad 10 is equipped with LCD screens measuring 10.5 inches and 10.9 inches. The leak also mentions that the iPad 10 will feature a USB Type-C port.

The USB type-C port is expected to increase the fast charging and data transfer capabilities via cable from the iPad 10.

If these reports are true, then Apple will completely abandon the lightning port on iPad devices, including the iPad Air, iPad Mini and iPad Pro.

For information, the iPad 9 still uses the Lightning port which has lower performance than USB Type-C.

In addition to carrying USB Type-C, the iPad 10 will reportedly be sold at a lower price. Reporting from PhoneArena, Apple will reportedly price the iPad 10 with prices starting at USD 330.

This makes the iPad 10 a new generation series at the lowest price.
