A new leak from Chiphell suggests AMD’s upcoming Zen 6 CPUs could feature up to 48MB of L3 cache per CCD, potentially giving the top-end model with two CCDs a total of 96MB.

With the Zen 5 lineup mostly released, speculation about its successor is gaining traction. Previous leaks suggested the high-end desktop SKU—possibly the Ryzen 9 11,950X—might feature up to 24 cores, a significant jump from the current 16-core cap.

The latest leak also hints at potential 3D V-cache variants, with configurations reaching up to 224MB of total L3 cache.

In addition to the standard Zen 6 CCD, AMD is reportedly developing Zen 6c, a compact core variant featuring 16 cores per CCD alongside 64MB of L3 cache.

A 32-core model with two such CCDs and 128MB of L3 cache is also rumored, though its exact positioning—whether in the Ryzen, Threadripper, or Epyc lineup—remains unclear. Some laptop chips could also mix Zen 5 and Zen 6 cores, similar to Strix Point.

With Zen 6 still in early development, details remain fluid, but the increased cache and core count could position AMD’s next-gen CPUs as powerful contenders in both desktop and server markets.
