Electronic Arts (EA) has released a new community update ahead of the Battlefield 6 launch, offering a preview of upcoming content and addressing feedback from the game’s open beta. Among the details shared, a single line in the update has drawn particular attention from fans, suggesting the long-awaited return of naval combat to the franchise.

In the post, EA noted that “requests for naval warfare have not gone unnoticed,” marking the first indication that the feature could make a comeback since its last appearance in Battlefield 1. The update also confirmed the reintroduction of the “Little Bird” light helicopter, along with early plans for a new platoon system designed to enhance team coordination and large-scale engagements.

The company reiterated its commitment to a live-service model for Battlefield 6, with content planned to expand through seasonal updates. Season 1, set to begin on October 28, will introduce a Battle Royale mode, new maps, additional weapons, and rotating limited-time events. EA said the goal is to deliver “more post-launch content than any previous entry in the series.”

Despite the positive reaction to hints of naval combat, the community response has been mixed. Many players continue to express frustration over EA’s handling of weapon system feedback from the open beta. Some users accused the company of manipulating survey results, arguing that the “Closed Weapons” option was not fairly presented.

While excitement builds for new gameplay features, concerns about communication and transparency remain prominent across player discussions. Battlefield 6 is scheduled for release on October 10, with EA promising continued adjustments based on player feedback after launch.
